These cute little crochet baby booties are just so fun and cozy to crochet and you can easily make a pair or 2 in an afternoon.
They also make a great accessory for a maternity gift or a christening gift.
The boots sit really well on little feet and are extremely soft and comfortable for small children to wear.

Materials
- 50 g of Drops Merino Extra Fine
- 4 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Darning needle
Gauge
- 9 HDC = 5 cm.
Abbreviations
- ST – Stitch
- CH – Chains
- SL ST- Slip stitch
- SC- Single crochet
- HDC- Half double crochet
- DC- Double crochet
- DC DEC – Double crochet decrease (Double crochet 2 together)

Instructions
The Sole
CH 10
Round 1. 2 HDC in the 2nd CH from the hook. HDC in next 7 CH. 6 HDC in the last CH. (You will now work on the opposite side of your Chains). HDC in next 7 CH. 2 HDC in the last CH, which is the same as your starting CH. (24 HDC) SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
Round 2. 2 HDC in first 2 ST. HDC in next 7 ST. 2 HDC in next 6 ST. HDC in next 7 ST. 2 HDC in the last 2 ST. (34 HDC) SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
Round 3. *2 HDC in first ST. HDC in next ST. * Repeat from *-* 1 more time. HDC in next 7 ST. *2 HDC in next ST. 1 HDC in next ST*. Repeat from *-* 6 times in total. HDC in next 7 ST. *2 HDC in next ST. 1 HDC in next ST. * Repeat from *-* 1 more time. (44 HDC). SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
The Main Part
Round 4. HDC in every ST around. (Work into the back loops only). (44 HDC). SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
Round 5. HDC in next 16 ST. *Make a DC DEC. DC in next ST.*Repeat from *-* 6 times in total. HDC in last 10 ST. (38 ST) SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
Round 6. HDC in next 15 ST. DC DEC 6 times. HDC in last 11 ST. (32 ST) SL ST in first ST. CH 1.
Round 7. HDC in next 14 ST. 1 DC in next ST. DC DEC 3 times. 1 DC in next ST. HDC in the last 10 ST. (29 ST) SL ST in first ST.
The Ribbing
You will now make ribbed cuffs of the boot.
Chain 13 from the edge of the shoe.
Row 1. SC in 2nd CH from the hook and in next 11 ST. (12 SC). Attach the first row of your ribbing to the edge of the shoe by making a SL ST into the next 2 ST of the edge of the shoe. Turn your work.
Row 2. Skip the 2 SL ST. SC in the back loop only, of the next 12 ST. (12 SC) CH 1 and turn.
Row 3. SC in the next 12 ST. (12 SC). Attach the row of your ribbing to the shoe by making a SL ST into the next 2 ST. of the edge of the shoe. Turn your work.
Row 4-29. Repeat rows 2 and 3.
Fasten off and leave a small tail for sewing. Sew the edges of your ribbing together, using the mattress stitch. Weave in your ends thoroughly.

Your video demonstrates 3-6mos on a 4mm hook. What hook size are you using fr a NEWBORN? 3mm??
unfortunately I do not yet have a pattern for the boots in size newborn. But you can try to make them with a smaller hook size.
Hi, I really like this pattern! However, the baby I want to make these booties for is approaching 12 months. Do you know how I could adapt this pattern (maybe add a 4th round to the sole of the booties?) to fit a bigger size?
