Materials
Yarn:
- Drops Merino Extra Fine DK (Light Worsted Weight) 1 skein of Color 30 Mustard (for the center circle)
- 4 skeins of Color 01 Off White (for the flower petals)
- 6 skeins of Color 46 Desert Rose (for the border and join-as-you-go)
Hook:
- 4mm crochet hook (G-6)
Other:
- Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
- Scissors.
Gauge
Each granny square is approximately 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm). Total blanket size (48 squares): Approximately 30″ x 40″ (76 cm x 102 cm). The measurents are taken after washing and blocking.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- tc = treble crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- sp = space
- sk = skip
- picot = ch 3, sl st into the next st (creates a little “bump” or picot)

Instructions
Daisy Granny Square Pattern
Round 1. (Center Circle – Color 30 Mustard):
- Make a magic ring or, a chain 4 circle.
- Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), then work 11 more dc into the ring.
- Sl st into the top of the starting ch-3 to close the round. (12 dc total)
- Fasten off and weave in the end.
Round 2. (Petals – Color 01 Off White)
- Join the White yarn to any dc from Round 1.
- CH 3. (The CH 3 will count as a TC)
- Crochet 2 TC together into the same ST. CH 2.
- Crochet 3 TC together into the next ST. CH 2.
- Repeat step 4 into every ST of the round, untill you have 12 petals in total.
- SL ST into the first ST. Fasten off the yarn.
Round 3. (Border – Color 46 Desert Rose)
- Join the Rose yarn to any sp from Round 2.
- Ch 4.(The ch 4 will count as a tc)
- Make 2 more tc into the same ch-space.
- Ch 1. Make 3 dc into next ch-space.
- Ch 1. 3 dc into the next ch-space.
- Ch 1. Make 3 tc. ch 3. and 3 tc into the next ch- space.
- Ch 1. Repeat step 4-5 followed by step 6 all the way around. Untill you have 4 corners and 4 sides of your sqaure. The last corner will be completed by making 3 tc and ch 3.
- Make a sl st into the starting ch-3 to close the round.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Joining the Squares
Use the (Join-As-You-Go Technique) with Color 46 Desert Rose)

- Lay out your 48 granny squares in a grid pattern (6 rows x 8 columns), making sure the right sides are facing up.
- Start at the bottom-right corner and join the first two squares. Continue across the first row till you have joined 6 squares.
- Add the second row of 6 new squares .
- Crochet all the way around the grannysquares and join them at the same time with a sl st in every ch sp.
- Repeat this process untill every square is joined.
- After joining all the squares, join your work with a sl st, but do not cut your yarn.
The Border
It’s now time to add a dc round and a picot border for a romantic, feminine touch.

First make a round of double crochet all the way around the blanket as follows:
- Continue using the Desert Rose yarn and ch 3. The ch 3 will count as a dc.
- Dc in every st and every sp along the first side of the first square.
- Dc into the corner sp.
- Dc into the sl st where you joined the squares.
- Dc into the next corner sp, of the next granny square.
- Repeat step 2-5 across the first side of the blanket.
- When you reach the first corner of your blanket, make 4 dc into the corner sp.
- Repeat step 2-5 for the bottom edge of your blanket.
- Repeat step 7 to create the next corner of your blanket.
- Repeat step 2-5 for the other side of your blanket.
- Repeat step 7 to create the next corner of your blanket.
- Repeat step 2-5 for the top edge of your blanket.
- Repeat step 7 to create the last corner of your blanket.
- Sl st into the top of the ch 3 to join the round. Do not cut your yarn.
Now make the picot border all the way around your blanket as follows:
- Ch 3 and sl st into the next st.
- Sl st into the next 2 st.
- Repeat step 1 and 2 all the way around your blanket.
- When you have worked all the way around the blanket, make a sl st into the last 2 st to complete the round.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
