Ellen’s Baby dress is a mini version of my popular crochet pattern for Ellen’s dress for children.
This crochet dress has been a big hit with my lovely nieces Mia and Ellen, and the pattern has since been in demand in baby size.
So here you have this beautiful and comfortable crocheted dress, which with its simple and modern design is perfect both for everyday life and festive occasions. The model of the dress is quite wide, which enables the child to use the dress over a longer period of time.
You can use the free pattern below for size 3-6 months. If you want to crochet the dress in other sizes, you can buy the pattern as a printable PDF file with all 4 sizes from 3-24 months included:

Skip 41 ST (Armhole). 1 DC in the next CH-space and the next 26 ST (Back). (114 ST. including 2 x 3 CH under the armpit).
Join the row with a SL ST into the first ST, so that you will continue crocheting in rounds.

Join the last round with a SL ST into the first ST.
Round 15-17. CH 3 (These will count a double crochet) DC into the previous ST, so you will cross the first ST. CR DC in every ST around. (171 DC). You will have a total of 3 rounds of CR DC.
Round 18-22. Repeat round 11-14. You will have a total of 5 rounds of DC. (171 DC).
Round 23-25. Repeat round 15-17. You will have a total of 3 rounds of CR DC. (171 DC).

Round 34-39. Repeat round 11-14.
Round 40. Make a nice hem on the skirt of the dress by making a SL ST in every ST around. Cut and fasten off your yarn.
Edges and buttonholes
You will now crochet a nice edge in the neckline as well as the opening at the back of the dress. At the same time, you will make the buttonholes.
Attach your yarn to the bottom of the opening in the back. Make 7, 7, 9 SC into the edge of the opening on the left side. CH 4. Skip next ST (This will create the first buttonhole). Make 7, 8, 8 SC. CH 4. SC into the top of the neckline.
SL ST in every ST around the neckline.
SC at the edge of the back opening on the right side.
Finish off with a SL ST into the first ST of the round. Cut and fasten off your yarn, and sew in all the yarn ends.
Sew your buttons in precisely on the opposite side of the buttonholes
Ruffle Sleeves
Attach your yarn to the first ST in the armhole. Leave a long yarn tail approx. 40 cm.
The first row is crocheted on the wrong side.
Row 1. SC in next 2 ST. HDC in next 2 ST. DC in the next ST. Make 2 DC into every ST, until you have 5 ST left in the armhole. HDC in next 2 ST. SC in next 2 ST. SL ST in the next ST. CH 1 and turn.
Row 2. Skip first SC in next 2 ST. HDC in next 2 ST. DC in next ST. *2 DC in next ST. 1 DC in next ST.* Repeat from *-* until you have 5 ST left in the row. DC in the next ST. HDC in next 2 ST. SC in next 2 ST. SL ST into the rest of the ST in the armpit. End with a SL ST into the first ST of the row.
Cut and fasten off your yarn and weave in all the yarn ends.
Repeat the same process from rows 1 and 2 to make the second sleeve on the opposite side of your dress.
Pass the long yarn tail into the stitches, of the first row of the sleeves. This will make the stitches, which have been expanded due to the increases, neatly reassembled. And at the same time, it will give more curl on the ruffles.
Weave in all your yarn ends thoroughly.
Congratulations on finishing your own adorable dress.
