- A small amount 20g-30g of Drops Big Merino yarn
- 5.5 mm. Crochet Hook
- Darning Needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- CH – Chain
- SL ST – Slip Stitch
- DC – Double Crochet
- ST – Stitch
Instructions
Make a slipknot and CH 5. Join CH 5 with af SL ST into the first CH. You now have a small circle to work your stitches into.
Round 1. CH 5. (CH 5 will count as a double crochet and a CH 2). Make 3 DC into the circle. CH 2. (CH 2 will create the first corner in the square). *3 DC crochet into the circle and CH 2.* Repeat from *-* 1 more time. Make 2 DC to into the circle. SL ST into the top of the first 3 CH of the CH 5. You will have 4 sides, and 4 corners in your sqaure.
Round 2. SL ST into the CH 2 space. CH 5. 2 DC into the same CH-space. *DC in next 3 ST. 2 DC. CH 2 2 DC into the next CH- space*. Repeat from *-* 2 more times. Make 2 DC into the last CH-space. SL ST into the top of the first 3 CH of the CH 5.
Round 3. SL ST into the CH 2 space. CH 5. 2 DC into the same CH-space. *DC in next 7 ST. 2 DC. CH 2 2 DC into the next CH- space*. Repeat from *-* 2 more times. Make 2 DC into the last CH-space. SL ST into the top of the first 3 CH of the CH 5.
Round 4. SL ST into the CH 2 space. CH 5. 2 DC into the same CH-space. *DC in next 11 ST. 2 DC. CH 2 2 DC into the next CH- space*. Repeat from *-* 2 more times. Make 2 DC into the last CH-space. SL ST into the top of the first 3 CH of the CH 5.
From this point you will repeat the previous round, to make the square as large as you want. Just note that you will have 4 more stitches to work into, in the sides of the square for each round.
