- Make 2 double crochet into the circle.
- Chain 2. Chain 2 will be the first corner in the square.
- Make 3 double crochet into the circle and chain 2.
- Repeat the last step 2 times, so You will have 4 sides of a square, and 4 corners.

- Make slip stitch into the chain 2 space.
- To start round 2. Chain 5. Chain 5 will count as a double crochet and a chain 2.
- Make 2 double crochet into the same chain 2 space.
- Make a double crochet in the next 3 stitches.
- Make 2 double crochet. Chain 2, and make 2 more double crochet into the same chain space. The chain 2 will be the corner of the square.
- Repeat the last 2 steps around, til you reach the last corner.
- In the last corner You already have what counts as 2 double crochet. You will therefore only need to make 2 more double crochet and chain 2.
- End the round with a slip stitch into the third of the chain 5 that you started with.
- From this point you will repeat the previous round, to make the square as large as you want. You will have 4 more stitches to work into, in the sides of the square for each round.
